When you buy a third party sample library for EXS24 the first time you may wonder, where should I put the .exs files and the WAV (or AIF) files?
Its important that you put the .exs files in the right folder, if you don’t, EXS24 will not find them.
The full search path for where you should store all your .exs files is:
“Macintosh HD -> Users ->???->Library->Application Support->Logic->Sampler Instruments”
Inside the “User” folder your username is replaced with “???” in our example.
Inside the “Sampler Instruments” folder you can create new folders and subfolders to keep your libraries (.exs files) in order. If you use another language version of iOS the first parts of the search path is in your language so for me its “Användare” instead of “User” and “Bibliotek” instead of “Library”. I am using a Swedish version.
As soon as EXS24 has found the .exs files it doesn’t have any problems to find the WAV files, you can place them where you like on your main hard drive or external.
If you want to have the WAV files on an external drive you must do some changes in EXS24 preferences so it searches for the samples, WAV or AIF on external drives.
Start Logic and EXS24 go to the options button to the left in the EXS24 window and select “Preferences…” from the dropdown menu. At “Search samples on:” select “All volumes”.
